1. Cancelling a request you have not had confirmed
A booking request sent through this website costs nothing and commits you to nothing. If you change your mind before the team has confirmed the stay, tell us and the request is closed. There is no charge.
2. Cancelling a confirmed stay
Once a stay is confirmed and paid for, the cancellation terms that apply are the ones set out in your written confirmation for that property. They differ between properties, because the owner of each property sets them.
To cancel, write to the team through the contact page or reply to your confirmation. A cancellation takes effect from the time we receive it, so send it as early as you can — the amount refundable almost always depends on how far ahead of arrival you cancel.
3. Changing dates
Moving a confirmed stay to different dates depends on the property being free and on the rate for the new dates. Where a change is possible, the team will confirm the new dates and any difference in the total in writing before anything is altered.
Where a change is not possible, the cancellation terms for the booking apply instead.
4. Shortened stays and no-shows
Leaving a property earlier than the confirmed departure date does not usually result in a refund for the unused nights. Not arriving without notice is treated as a cancellation on the day of arrival.
5. If we have to cancel
If a property becomes unavailable for reasons outside your control, the team will offer a comparable alternative for the same dates or refund everything you have paid for the stay. We will not keep a payment for a stay we cannot provide.
6. Events outside anyone's control
Where a stay cannot go ahead because of an event neither side can control — a natural event, a public health measure, an airport closure or similar — the team will work with the property owner on the fairest outcome available, which may be a credit for future dates rather than a refund. This is a further reason to hold travel insurance.
7. Refunds
Refunds are returned by the same method the payment was made. Bank charges and currency movement between payment and refund are outside our control.
